Welcome, Amanda McLaren!

Eastern Christian School welcomes Amanda McLaren as kindergarten paraprofessional.

Amanda received a bachelor’s degree in psychology. 

Please tell us about yourself.

I was born and raised in South Africa and moved to the US to attend the Brownsville Revival School of Ministry in Florida. My husband and I have always been small business owners who love to travel! We have lived on three continents and love adventure. Besides travel, my interests include baking, cookie decorating, 3D printing and playing pickle ball. We have two children, both of whom attend EC. We attend Bethany Church, where I serve on the altar team. 

How has God brought you to work at EC?

This past year was my first year with EC as the parent of a freshman. From day one, the EC community has felt like family. I have loved watching my daughter grow and flourish at school. It was for these reasons that I wanted to apply for a positon at EC. I have a BA degree in Psychology with many education courses; however, I think life experience as a homeschooler and preschool assistant has taught me the most. I’m looking forward to joining the staff on the elementary campus and meeting all the new kindergartners!

What sets EC apart? 

After being part of the Parents in Prayer team at the high school this past year, I really was amazed at how EC felt like a family from the start. The teachers really care about the students and are invested in their lives. I feel like EC gives the extra support kids need to succeed academically, socially and spiritually. I love that parents are welcomed and encouraged to come to the school every week to pray for the school, students and staff. It has been so encouraging to see how God has answered many of those prayers!
